Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 24.2 Overview
The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 24.2 is an excellent choice for a small family cruiser. It offers decent sailing performance and features a surprisingly spacious open plan saloon with a galley, an aft double berth, a separate head, and standing headroom.
Construction
Constructed with GRP, this boat has a swing keel with a draft ranging from 0.65m to 1.40m. It features a transom hung rudder with tiller steering. A new set of companionway washboards will be supplied with the boat. Additionally, a set of beaching legs and a sprayhood frame are included.
Mechanicals
Powered by a Yanmar 1GM10 9hp inboard diesel engine, it has a shaft driven, 2 bladed propeller. The engine was serviced and winterised in late November 2024. A single 12v battery provides engine start and service power. The boat is equipped with Webasto diesel cabin heating.
Rigging and Sails
This vessel features a fractional rigged Bermudan Sloop with a deck stepped alloy mast and spars. It has stainless wire standing rigging with an adjustable backstay. The slab reefing mainsail comes with a Lazy Jack bag, and there is a roller furling jib. Both sails are by Technique voile and are reported to be in "good condition".
Accommodation
Accommodation is available for 4 to 5 people in an open plan saloon with a separate aft double berth. The galley is located to port and includes a sink, a 2 burner hob, and a grill. A central dining table with a keel lift is built in. There is a chart table with electronics to starboard and a separate head with a chemical loo. The boat also features Webasto cabin heating.
