Designed by Germán Frers, the Hallberg-Rassy 31 features a well laid out interior, a comfortable cockpit, and excellent sailing characteristics. This model has one of the longest production runs in Hallberg-Rassy's history. SEEPFERNCHEN has been meticulously maintained and regularly updated by her current owner. She is an immaculate example of this popular and capable shoal draft cruising yacht.
Accommodation
The interior is finished in selected mahogany with matt silk varnish. The boat is well-lit throughout. It features light blue/grey patterned upholstery with cream curtains at the side windows and under the skylights. The floor is varnished teak with holly stripes. A red carpet protects the floor immediately under the companionway steps and in the aft cabin.
Webasto diesel fired cabin heater with warm air outlets in each cabin, including heads.
SALOON:
Two sofas, each two metres long, with a dropleaf table on the centreline. Bottle stowage is in the centre section of the table. Lifting sofa backrests allow for a wider berth for sleeping and space for bedding when not in use. Extra bulkhead cushions are included. Lockers with louvered doors and bookshelves are over the sofas. Stowage is available under the sofa on the starboard side. A Wempe Clock and barometer are mounted on the main bulkhead. The ivory headlining is accentuated with fore and aft mahogany stripes. There is a large opening deck hatch. Headroom is 1.86m in the saloon.
GALLEY:
The galley is located to port and includes drawers and a cutting board. It features a 2 burner Eno cooker with oven and an opening window above. There is a deep double sink with pressurized hot & cold water, along with a cold water foot pump as a reserve. An insulated ice box with a 12v refrigeration unit is also present. Worktops are in white.
CHART TABLE:
On the starboard side, there is a forward-facing chart table with a seat and drawers. An instrument shelf is included, along with an electrical switch panel featuring a voltmeter, fuel, and water gauges. A Pioneer FM/AM radio and CD player are also available.
FORWARD CABIN:
This cabin has a V berth arrangement with two berths, each 2.12m long. Stowage is available below the berths, and shelves are located at the sides. A two-door cupboard forward contains the windlass motor. An extra opening deck hatch and a door to the saloon are included.
AFT CABIN:
This cabin features a double berth, measuring 2.25m long at its longest point and 1.62m wide at its widest point. A large wardrobe with extra shelves is included, along with a shelf over the berth and two opening windows. A folding door leads to the saloon.
HEADS COMPARTMENT:
Bulkheads and cupboards are finished in white laminate. There is a built-in shower stall with teak grating. A pump action Jabsco marine toilet (New 2009) is included, along with a stainless steel holding tank. Stowage is available over and under the china sink. The pressurized hot & cold water system is present, and the sink faucet can be pulled out for shower use. A 12v shower waste pump and a mirror are also included, with ventilation through an opening window.
Navigation Equipment
A Raymarine C80 chartplotter is mounted under the sprayhood.
A Raymarine ST4000+ Autopilot is included.
A RR Delst 200S antenna is located at the masthead (VHF/SSB/FM/AM).

The sail drive gasket was renewed in New Nov 2016.
Charging of batteries is managed by a 60A alternator from the engine.
A 12v start battery and two separate 12v service batteries are present.
A Sterling 20A Battery charger and a battery monitor are included.
A 240v shore power system with 5 x 240v sockets is available, along with a 240v shore power lead.
A water calorifier and a pressurized fresh water system with hot & cold water to the galley & heads are present.
A manual & electric bilge pump and various engine spares are included.
Spars And Sails
The boat features a 7/8-rig by Seldén, with tackle for backstay tension.
A Southern Spars in-boom furling system is included.
The original boom and mainsail are available.
A 200S Furlex headsail reefing & furling system with a Lewmar jammer is present.
Lines are led into the cockpit through 8 clutches.
40CST primary winches and 16CST halyard winches under the sprayhood are included.
A Seldén rod gas kicker, spinnaker halyard, and track on the mast for a spinnaker pole are present.
A spinnaker pole and Windex are included.
SAILS:
A fully battened mainsail with a Frederiksen BBS ball-slide system.
A furling jib.
A North Sail spinnaker (very light use).

A 34lb CQR anchor with 40m 8mm chain is included.
A Lewmar electric anchor windlass (new April 2014) is present.
Teak side decks and handrails are included, along with teak in the cockpit, on the coaming, and on the bathing platform.
Mooring cleats are located fore & aft with spring cleats amidships.
Three large Lewmar opening hatches and an opening window over the galley, in the heads compartment, and two in the aft cabin are present.
A stainless steel pulpit, pushpit, and guard rails are included.
A fixed windscreen with an opening mid-section is available.
A cockpit extension/tent is included.
Tiller steering with a Spinlock tiller extension is present.
An integral bathing platform with a folding ladder is included.
A self-draining gas locker is located on the starboard side deck.
A teak cockpit table with stowage in the cockpit locker is available.
International navigation lights and a deck light are included, along with a combined tricolour/anchor light at the masthead.
A mainsail cover, 2x winch handles, a flag staff for ensign, and a teak outboard bracket on the pushpit are present.
Certification
The boat is CE certified by Germanischer Lloyd and is delivered with a CE certificate and a CE plaque for category A (unlimited ocean voyages).
