Acerca de este JND 39

English

"Xanaboo" (ex-Lann Ael 2) is an exciting and competitive yacht penned at the drawing board of Bernard Nivelt.
This JND design claimed possibly the top prize in Offshore yacht racing, winning the 2017 Fastnet race overall and she has not stood still since!

"Xanaboo" is a mid-sized racer that is both inshore and offshore capable and has a simple, but functional interior space that is light and airy.
Fitted with twin rudders and a top spec sail inventory, she can be pushed hard with relatively small crew, thanks to her clever and well thought out deck design, as well as her high form stability type hull.
For sure, an incredibly exciting opportunity for someone that is serious about their yacht racing and comes with the added benefit of being both EU and UK VAT PAID.

Broker comments

The proof of this yachts performance is clear the minute you look at her results history.

"Xanaboo" is a simple yet clever yacht that combines years of successful French offshore design pedigree, into a very rewarding and safe yacht to sail offshore and inshore, with an enviable IRC handicap.

•Fastnet OVERALL winner in 2017

•Fastnet Winner Class One in 2019

•Winner Glazebrook Challenge Cup Cowes Week 2022

•Fastnet top 10 (100 entries IRC1) in 2023

•Winner Queen's Cup Cowes Week 2023

•and well placed amongst her other accolades.

Her design allows for a smaller crew than traditional at 40ft in length, thanks to her harder chines that run from mid ships aft and provide stability at higher heel angles and speed. Coupled with the twin rudder design she feels like she is on rails, when the breeze is up.

She also has enough of an interior, to make her a much nicer environment for longer offshore racing and relatively high freeboard also means you are not a complete drowned rat all the time in a sea-way..

Originally designed as a single rudder yacht, the yacht has been optimised more towards reaching with twin rudders and a selection of code sails and tack points to squeeze every ounce of speed from the sail plan.

For a mix of inshore and offshore racing, reinstating her original single rudder could be a serious consideration, but as always it often makes sense to play to a boat strengths.
