Acerca de este Pogo 12.50

English

Fully optioned 2022-launched Pogo 12.50 with carbon rig, twin carbon helm wheels, Incidence Hydranet sails, B&G instruments, Schenker watermaker, Watt&Sea hydrogenator, solar panels and and all the cruising comforts available. Very lightly used, with low hours run and simply perfect for short-handed performance offshore cruising.

FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:

Constructed at the end of 2021 and delivered to her first and only UK-based owner in the Spring of 2022, SARENNE is one of the newest Pogo 12.50’s on the water.

A past winner of the European Yacht of the Year, the Pogo 12.50 marries the same Finot-Conq & Roseo Design hull as the Class 40 Pogo 40 racing yacht with a practical, light and spacious cruising interior to create a true short-handed cruising rocketship. With her robust vacuum-infused Vinylester construction, crash bulkheads, closed-cell foam buoyancy within internal structures to create an unsinkable hull, wide beam, unrivalled form stability, double rudders, swing keel with 1,900kgs lead bulb, carbon mast and square top main, she ticks absolutely all the boxes and then some.

While many Pogo 12.50’s have found their way on to the race circuit, SARENNE has been configured for fast, safe ocean cruising with a young family and as such comes completed with everything needed for longer term life aboard including a versatile three double cabin interior layout. Her inventory features highlights such as:

• Upgraded full vinylester-infused hull laminate

• Swing keel with 1.20-3.00m draft and 1,900kgs lead ballast bulb

• Twin rudders with upgraded Carbonautica twin carbon helm wheels

• Carbon fibre mast without backstay and flat-top mainsail

• Carbon fibre extending bowsprit

• Full suite of Incidence Sails Hydranet sails including furling Solent jib and staysail

• Furling Gennaker and Asymmetric with snuffer

• Harken electric main halyard winch

OWNER’S COMMENTS:

I have spent a lot of my life racing offshore, normally short-handed. When it came to selecting a cruising boat for our young family, I didn't want to compromise performance in exchange for accommodation. I wanted to inspire my kids to enjoy sailing, and I've never found much joy in mass-production cruisers. I also wanted fast passage-making - enabling us to travel further and enjoy the destination!

I'm an over-thinker, and I spent a lot of time at Pogo Structures before and during the build. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of workmanship and the knowledge and obvious passion of everyone there.

The boat has absolutely lived up to expectations. Fast, comfortable and manageable to sail, while being very enjoyable to live on. We prefer the minimalist, bright and airy feel below deck and have found there's plenty of space on board.

We planned to build up to spending 2 years circumnavigating, but other priorities in our lives have meant that we haven't spent as much time on SARENNE as we would have liked, and our blue-water cruising aspirations have been put on hold for now. Reluctantly, we just can't justify keeping her - she needs to be sailed!"

PRESS REVIEW:

The Pogo 12.5 was voted as the European Yacht of the Year in the 'Performance Cruiser' category. It is manufactured by French company Pogo Structures in Combrit - Sainte Marine near Brest on the northern shores of the Bay of Biscay.

The Pogo 12.50 is the result of a collaboration between two of Structures' designers Finot-Conq and Roséo Design, and it is no ordinary cruising sailing boat, having a carbon mast, a pivoting keel if you want it, no backstay and a roached main.

It was conceived for long-distance cruising, for the enjoyment of being at sea, be it alone or with the family, and, most importantly for those who love it or just for safety, for speed.

The seaworthiness and simplicity of the Pogo 12.50 is probably what impressed the judges in making the award.

Developed as an extension of the 10.50 which itself was designed for fast, easy, comfortable and safe cruising, the designers also listened to their customers who had undertaken long-distance cruises in the Pogo 40. With all that information in mind, they have taken the philosophy of fast cruising a step further with this boat.

The interior has been designed for greater comfort than the predecessors, and the layout has been designed for low-maintenance.

There's plenty of space, volume and light in the interior, important both when cruising and when moored. Other features are a hull shape which minimises the drag in light air, and the bow is up in a downwind breeze, which is vital for cruising sailors.

The composite pivoting keel has a very low centre of gravity. When the keel is lifted, the draft of 1.2 m allows access to the most out of the way anchorages. This is one of the magic features of the boat, however, for if the boat runs aground, the keel releases from its down position in order to absorb much of the impact.

The mast is made of carbon, with swept-back spreaders (more than 25°) is designed to do without a backstay, and can therefore take a square-headed mainsail for cruising, keeping the deck uncluttered.

MANUFACTURER’S BACKGROUND:

Owned by a former winner of the Mini Transat class, Pogo Structures, formed in 1987, started building half-tonner racing yachts in the 1980’s. The company has stayed at the forefront of boat-building technology and alongside the production yachts they still build significant numbers of Mini Transat and Class 40 yachts. This same technology is put to practice building the Pogo range of performance cruisers with all hulls infused and weight saving a constant focus.
