Beautiful example of Hallberg-Rassy 42 E, built in 1988 by the infallible hand and skilled mind of the world-famous Swedish designer Olle Enderlein. This is Hull no. 192 of 255 built by Hallberg Rassy. This fantastic, well-maintained ocean cruiser is equipped to be steered in total safety and simplicity even by a single-hand sailing. With a 15 m mast with two spreaders, with hydraulic RECKMANN furling mainsail system and hydraulic RECKMANN jib furling system, the opening and closing of the sails can be carried out safely and easily directly from the cockpit, well protected by the rigid top sprayhood, equipped with windows and elettric wipers. The standing rigging is well maintained, the sails were renewed in 2017, equipped with an Harken electric winch, autopilot and bow thruster. Teak deck need to be refurbished.
The ultimate sailing traveler
According to Magnus Rassy himself, the HR 42 Enderlein is the largest family sailing traveler. In fact, you see a lot of them around. Beyond to the very size of the boat which remains easily manoeuvrable by a couple, there are numerous advantages that make it suitable for a family trip. The central cockpit and the limited number of cabins provide the privacy needed when living on board. The considerable storage capacity and autonomy in water and fuel allow long crossings. In terms of safety and seaworthiness, the reliability of this boat is not to be demonstrated and the presence of an elongated bulb has the advantage of course stability (important for autopilot savings) associated with a reduced draft.
