Owner speaks : We decided to buy Platon in 2008 with the aim to start sailing long-distance cruises. On the sound advice from a professional skipper that worked with several boatyards, we decided on buying a Super Maramu. After 15 years of cruising, we are still grateful to him. The Super Maramu is a solid and reliable boat, that inspires a total trust in the difficult conditions that one may encounter on long-distance sailing. Safety is her first strong point and the second is the comfort at sea, because with her well protected cockpit in the centre of the boat and its electrical manoeuvres that work perfectly well, the crew is never exposed. It is also always possible to cook, even in bad weather or upwind in strong winds.
Moreover, the Super Maramu is a boat that works well, particularly downwind, with excellent road stability in all weather conditions with the autopilot. With a well-established downwind it's common to average of 180 nm per day; including downwind with a pitched genoa. Autonomy in water (1000L) and diesel (100h engine hours) are other points that are much appreciated for crossing the Atlantic for example or in the islands where refuelling can sometimes be complicated. In short, the Super Maramu is an excellent long distance cruising boat. This is how we used Platon across the Mediterranean and from Brittany to the Caribbeans via all the islands of the northern Atlantic. The equipment carefully maintained and renewed is designed for that purpose. We are selling Platon with regret as its owners has more trouble than her to handle the weight of the years gone by. We wish her to yet have a long career and many beautiful navigations on the oceans around the world.
