This circa 1976, Westerly Centaur offers a simple yet practical layout. The Westerly Centaur is renowned for its excellent handling under sail. This yacht has been owned by current owner for the past 30 years, with only one previous owner in its history. This boat is currently out of the water but is ready for viewing. The yacht is being sold as seen and the owner is open to offers. A copy of the 2009 Survey is available upon viewing or by request. A berth at Swale Marina is available by separate negotiation.

Accommodation :
This Westerly Centaur offers comfortable accommodation for up to four people spread across two cabins.
The forepeak features a vee berth with convenient under-berth storage and infill, which converts it into a double berth. The forepeak also benefits from shelf storage to both sides of the berth.
Moving aft, there is a separate Head's compartment equipped with a marine toilet and a wash basin supplied with manually pumped cold water.
Continuing towards the stern, the saloon offers a central sliding table, surrounded by settee on both port and starboard sides, offering convenient under-seat and shelf storage behind. The port settee easily transforms into a single berth.
Positioned on the starboard side aft within the saloon, the galley has a gimbaled 2-burner gas stove, a single stainless-steel sink supplied with manual cold water, and ample storage space. Adjacent to the galley sits a quarter berth. Additionally, this Westerly Centaur comes equipped with a saloon-mounted CD player/radio.
Ascending the companionway leads to the aft cockpit, complete with bench seating comfortably accommodating four people and offering generous storage within a deep locker to port. The cockpit includes a compass, depth gauge, speed log, and engine controls.

History & Construction:
Constructed by Westerly Yachts in circa 1976 to a Laurent Giles design. Featuring a red GRP hull adorned with a teak rubbing strake, self-draining cockpit, and white GRP decks with by brown non-slip surfaces. Its stability is ensured by cast iron twin bilge keels, with tiller steering and skeg rudder.
This Westerly Centaur has been enjoyed by the current owner for the past 30 years. A copy of a 2009 survey report is available upon request.

Sails and Spars:
This Westerly Centaur features a masthead Bermudan sloop rig, with a deck-stepped aluminium mast and boom with stainless steel standing rigging. The age of the standing and running rigging is unknown. Equipped with a furling headsail and a slab reef mainsail, this vessel allows for efficient sailing in various conditions.

Mechanical Systems:
The Westerly Centaur is equipped with a Watermota Sea Panther MK IV diesel engine, powering a shaft driven three bladed fixed propeller. This engine is supplied by a 45 Litre fuel tank, and is operated via Morse controls. This Westerly Centaur should expect a cruising speed of approximately 5 knots, with a maximum speed of approximately 7 knots. The current engine hours are unknown.
Electrical Systems:
This Westerly Centaur could be equipped with two 12-volt batteries, comprising one for engine use and one for domestic purposes. These batteries charge directly from the engine alternator. Batteries are currently not fitted.
