2010-2013 RE-FIT
-
- Mast stepped and all spars x-rayed and replaced if necessary. Standing rigging renewed. All pulleys, blocks and jammers serviced and replaced where worn.
- All internal linings removed to facilitate removing all deck fittings, stanchions, etc. Old teak/ply decking removed and fibreglass surface reshaped where puddles sometimes developed. HYS then laid 12mm of new teak deck, glued to the glass fibre deck. All deck fittings were refitted and renewed lining fitted.
- Superstructure was previously white gell coloured and this was painted epoxy white for a stronger finish.
- Hull was previously blue gel coloured and this was painted epoxy blue for a stronger finish. Unopened tins of two part blue epoxy are on board should any touching-up be required. Perhaps the transom might need this but new owner can decide. All skin fittings were replaced.
- Forward deck fitting installed for inner forestay and running backstays and blocks fitted for a new cutter foresail. In rough weather, a heavily reefed main and the cutter foresail make for a very safe, comfortable and powerful way to come home.
- The Cruising chute was recut on its leading edge and fitted to a rollerstay; a removable bowsprit was fitted and, together, this made for an easy and enjoyable way to sail downwind or, in light airs, closer to the wind. It is essential to ensure that the roller stay housing is firmly tied in position so the out casing cannot rotate.
- A bow thruster was installed and this makes the vessel very easy to manoeuvre in restricted areas. Anchor winch was upgraded and a new service battery installed in the bow for both of these bits of kit.
- Most navigation lights were replaced with LED fittings; as were some of the internal lights. Additional service battery fitted, and new Battery charger installed in cockpit locker.
- Cockpit primary winches were electrified and new service battery installed under the pilot berth.
- Bespoke Davit System designed specifically for an Oceanlord 41.
New Engine 2019
- New Volvo Penta D2-50HP Installed 2019
- Only 78 Running Hours!
- New MS25A GearBox
- Three Bladed Feathering Brunton HS-503 Prop
- Engine Reduced Noise
- More Fuel Efficient
- 8.5 knots @ 3,000 RPM
Works Needed
The vendor has been very forthcoming with some honest points he suggests could do with some attention:
- Replace the refrigeration compressor unit housed in the cockpit locker, directly beneath the starboard side deck gas locker. The unit is a Danfoss 102N3033, 12 V DC, Fuse 15A. A new owner may well wish to replace existing arrangement with a more efficient modern kit installed within the galley Island rather than refit the existing way which was obviously installed as the vessel was being constructed, as access is extremely difficult. I’d favour fitting a 46 litre Domestic NRX50 Compressor fridge from asap supplies for £670.
- Buy new cockpit canopy and boom cover or replace lazy jack panels.
- Fit new anemometer/wind vane at top of mast.
- Fit new anodes to hull, shaft, engine and bow thruster; antifoul the hull.
- Examine and replace if necessary the speed impeller.
- Pressure clean/scrape out the skin fittings for growth, etc..
- Acquire new flare pack.
Sail Inventory
- Mainsail on the boom with slab reefing.
- Foresail furling on the forestay,
- Inner jib for cutter rig sailing, in a blue sail bag.
- Cruising chute, red, white and blue, now on a removable rotastay furling wire, coiled-up in the fore cabin.
- Stormsail, in sail bag in the aft cabin
- The Spinnaker, found under the main bunk aft, carries a huge cut-in image of Montgomery Moose on his surf board. The boat’s name evolves from Montgomery Moose, of the Get Along Gang, a cartoon series of the 1980s”
