Fairey Marine Huntsman 28
The owner of this boat came to see me in about 2012, he didn't buy the Huntsman I had for sale, he bought hull 27 from 1962.What he then did was quite remarkable, he stripped the boat to a bare shell, just the bare Fairey hot moulded hull, replaced the entire outer layer of agba, then rebuilt every inch of boat with the very best of everything. There's a handful of very very nice Huntsman 28's out there, the 28 is the boat everybody wants, but this boat is in a different league all together. There is quite simply nothing else even slightly close. The entire boat is essentially brand new, a complete new layer on the hull, new bulkheads, new deck, new superstructure, new sold grp windscreen frame, all new windows, all new stainless window frames. Entirely epoxy coated and painted in Awlgrip with clear Awlgrip on the bright work. All fastenings are silicone bronze. The finish is simply staggering. Machinery is the very best too, Cummins 6BTA 270hp with BW 72C gearboxes, uprated shafts and bronze propellers. The Fairey rod steering is rebuilt to perfection, for those that don't know, the Fairey rod steering is a masterpiece of delicate lightness and feedback. Colin Chapman would have been satisfied. Heating, hot water, fridge, hob, everything is there to make your stay onboard comfortable. Unlike many motorboats from the period, even the fussiest partner will feel warm, dry and happy onboard, its a lovely comfortable clean place to be. You simply cannot repeat this boat today for less than double the asking price and it will take years to get there. This is turn key, on the button, ready to go perfection.
