Marketing Description

The Westerly Oceanlord epitomises the Westerly Yachts signature blend of durability, practicality, and classic styling.

The Oceanlord 41 quickly earned a reputation for its seaworthiness, making it a trusted choice for sailors embarking on long passages. Designed by Ed Dubois, the yacht combines excellent sailing performance with a forgiving nature, making it a natural choice for seasoned blue-water cruisers.

The Oceanlord 41 offers a spacious interior layout which focuses on comfort during extended voyages. With its centre cockpit configuration, the yacht provides excellent protection from the elements, while the wide decks and ample storage make it practical for passage making.

Owner's Comment

"We have owned and loved ‘Io’ since 2000. She has provided us with innumerable exciting but safe passages with family and friends. It is with great regret that we now offer her for sale following major illness and surgery.

She is ready to sail away, either to the Isle of Wight or to the Caribbean, as you please."

About the name ‘Io’

In Greek mythology ‘Io’ was a beautiful young woman (a mortal). She was seduced by Zeus, King of The Gods. Hera, Zeus’ wife, cursed ‘Io’ who then wandered the earth to avoid the curse. In Roman mythology, Zeus was known as Jupiter. The planet Jupiter has moons named after his female conquests and ‘Io’ is the closest moon. It happens to be the most volcanically active body in the solar system.
