EL SILVIO is a Galea 34, designed by the Basque naval engineer and athlete Jose Manuel Alonso Allende and built at the Udondo shipyards in 1962. Alonso Allende started sailing in 1934, sailing in a Snipe, a class that was rapidly becoming popular at that time.

After the 1936-1939 war, when sports activities resumed, the Snipe, which had acquired great international development, was adopted as a national class and in 1940 the first class championship was held, in which the Alonso-Allende brothers triumphed with the Dos cuñadas boat. In 1957, José Manuel became the Snipe world champion in exciting races in Lisbon.

In addition to his sports career, J.M. Alonso Allende designed more than 50 boats for the Udondo shipyards, among which the 12 boats of the Galea 34 series, which present slight differences between them, stand out as the most popular and racing.

El Silvio has been recently recovered, after more than 10 years of abandonment by its current owner.

EL SILVIO ES UN GALEA 34, DISEÑADO POR EL INGENIERO NAVAL Y DEPORTISTA VIZCAÍNO JOSE MANUEL ALONSO ALLENDE Y CONSTRUÍDO EN LOS ASTILLEROS UDONDO EN 1962. ALONSO ALLENDE SE INICIÓ EN LA VELA EN 1934, NAVEGANDO EN UN SNIPE, CLASE QUE POR ENTONCES SE ESTABA POPULARIZANDO RÁPIDAMENTE

Después de la guerra de 1936-1939, al reanudarse las actividades deportivas, el Snipe, que había adquirido un gran desarrollo internacional, fue adoptado como clase

nacional y en 1940 se celebró el primer campeonato de la clase en el que triunfaron los hermanos Alonso-Allende con la embarcación Dos cuñadas. En 1957, José Manuel se 

 aureó campeón mundial de Snipe en unas regatas muy emocionantes en Lisboa.

Además de su carrera deportiva, J.M. Alonso Allende diseñó para los Astilleros Udondo más de 50 embarcaciones, entre las que destacan como las más populares y regateras

los 12 barcos de la serie Galea 34, que presentan leves diferencias entre sí.

El Silvio ha sido recuperado recientemente, tras más de 10 años de abandono por su actual armador.

El Silvio est un Galea 34, conçu par l'ingénieur naval et sportif basque Jose Manuel Alonso Allende et construit aux chantiers navals Udondo en 1962. Alonso Allende a commencé la voile en 1934, naviguant sur un Snipe, une classe qui était en train de devenir rapidement populaire à cette époque-là.

Après la guerre de 1936-1939, lorsque les activités sportives ont repris, le Snipe, qui avait acquis un grand développement international, a été adopté comme classe nationale et en 1940, le premier championnat de la classe a été organisé, remporté par les frères Alonso-Allende avec le bateau "Dos cuñadas". En 1957, José Manuel est devenu champion du monde de Snipe lors de régates très émouvantes à Lisbonne.
