An amphibious vehicle or craft is one that is able to travel on land and water. There are two general types of amphibious vehicle - one type hovers on a cushion of air i.e., hovercraft. The other, non-hovering, type generally use either wheels or tracks to travel on land and have a propeller for water propulsion. However, some simply rotate their wheels to provide propulsion, although this is generally not as efficient as using a propeller. Of course, having a waterproof hull is a must for an amphibious vehicle.
Manufacturers that produce amphibious craft commercial boats include Commercial Boats.
