Shamrock Boats was founded in 1972 by marine engineer George Boynton in Cape Coral, Florida. The brand quickly distinguished itself through the design and production of inboard-powered, keel-drive boats, a marked departure from the more commonplace outboard and sterndrive motors of the time. Shamrock’s unique approach offered advantages in fuel efficiency, stability, and manoeuvrability, which helped them gain a loyal following among leisure boaters and sport fishermen. In the late 1980s, Shamrock faced financial challenges, leading to different ownership changes over subsequent decades. KCS International acquired the brand in the early 1990s, aiming to revitalise the company and its innovative designs. Despite these efforts, production halted in the early 2000s, leading many to believe the iconic boats would become a thing of the past. However, in a testament to the brand's lasting impact, Palmer Marine, based in Washington State, purchased the rights to build Shamrock boats in 2004. Today, Shamrock Boats operates under this new ownership, continuing to stay true to its founding principles of craftsmanship and innovation. Their range of rugged, dependable boats are still regarded for their quality and performance, enjoying a renewed appreciation from boating enthusiasts.
