'Atlantis' is the original boat name of this outstanding Eemskruiser 1100 AK.
This unique motor cruiser with the 'negative' windscreens was delivered 'custom built' in 1988 to the then German builder by Scheepsbouw Schutte in Groningen, the Netherlands.
The build quality is striking : the keel box was constructed in 6mm rolled steel, the hull and superstructure with 5mm. An in-house flat thickness measurement in 2024 showed that the steel is still in fine condition with more than sufficient thickness.
Atlantis underwent a total electrical rebuild in 2024, with all cables, fuses, switches, inverter/charger, AGM batteries, insulation transformer, solar panel, and so on replaced by Victron.
At the same time, the entire underwater hull was also sanded bare, to be rebuilt with a new professional paint system with three coats of primer and two coats of Hempel self abrasive antifouling.
Two new semi-transparent freshwater tanks with a total capacity of 300 litres, a new underwater toilet, a new stainless steel swimming platform with padouck hardwood inlays and steps, a new VHF VHF radio, two davits and a dinghy were added at the same time to make this exceptionally beautiful cruiser ready to sail again for many years to come. The gas installation was also inspected and modified by an approved gas installation company, of which certificate.
With the allure of a true patrol vessel, Atlantis sails extremely stable, smooth and economical with her powerful and remarkably quiet engine and weighted keel.
Steering and especially manoeuvring are easy and clear thanks to the large rudder blade, ideal steering positions and bow thruster.
With great distinction, this is an ideal motor yacht for exploring large and small inland waterways in style, comfort and silence.
