History of Riviera

Established in 1980, Riviera, Australia’s premium luxury boat building company, has an enriched heritage in the marine industry. The acclaimed boat manufacturer was founded by Bill Barry-Cotter in Sydney and in its early years, it focused on producing a line of boats that were not only technologically advanced but also incorporated innovative design and craftsmanship. Over time, Riviera has grown to become a recognised name in luxury, sports, and pleasure boats, establishing a reputation for excellence and high-quality craftsmanship.

In the mid-90s, Riviera made a strategic move to relocate to the Gold Coast, Queensland, positioning itself in the heart of Australia's recreational boating industry. This pivotal transition allowed the company to expand its operations and plunge into grander opportunities. Strengthened by the wealth of local expertise and resources, Riviera continued to rationalise and modernise its product lines, launching game-changing models such as the Riviera Sport Yacht collection and the stunning Riviera SUV collection.

Fast-forward to the present, Riviera remains headquartered on the Gold Coast, encompassing a state-of-the-art, 14-hectare site at Coomera with a sophisticated production facility. The company has also broadened its geographical footprint, exporting boats to more than 30 countries worldwide. Riviera continues to push the boundaries of boat design and construction, maintaining its deep-seated commitment to building world-class, luxurious high-performance boats.
