Pioner Boats, a dynamic and innovative company in the maritime sector, was established in Norway in 1959. Their inception lies in their desire to create robust, safe, and easy-to-use boats that are suitable even in the harsh Nordic sea conditions. As part of their manufacturing protocol, they use a rotational casting method, which ensures the production of strong and durable boats that can withstand the toughest of conditions with ease. This traditional Norwegian craftsmanship mixed with modern technology and design had led to the creation of practical boats, recognised for their quality worldwide.
The company underwent a significant transformation in 2008 when it was acquired by the fourth-generation, family-owned business, Frydenbø Industri. Powered by common values, a new vision and an enduring commitment to quality, the new ownership has propelled Pioner to innovate their models further, understanding and fulfilling the needs of a diversified customer base. The merger has also enabled Pioner to streamline its production capabilities, putting a stronger emphasis on ergonomics, safety, functionality and durability.
Now, the Pioner Boats headquarters is based in Bergen, on Norway’s west coast, where they continue to fulfil their mission. They manufacture a whole range of boats, including dinghies, rowboats, centre console boats and larger cabin boats, all adhering to the core values of safety, simplicity, durability and smart solutions. In recent years, they have also achieved significant success in expanding their footprint internationally, with their boats sailing on waters far beyond the coasts of Norway. Though the company is rooted in traditional Norwegian craftsmanship, Pioner is always looking forward, constantly innovating with the times, demonstrating Norwegian ingenuity at its finest.
