Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to June 1998.

 

She has been IRC & ORC rated. Built to DoT MCA Code 0 charter specifications.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Hull of single skin construction using glass/aramid hybrid fibre reinforced polyester laminate.
  • Full protective epoxy coating below waterline.
  • Antifouled and race prepped underwater.
  • Hull colour dark blue gelcoat with white boot top and cove line stripes. Paint sprayed in AWLGRIP Flag Blue in 2012.
  • Two dark blue coaming stripes.
  • Full teak laid decks – NEW TEAK DECKS IN 2017. Teak on side deck, bridge deck, centre line recess, coach roof and on cockpit soles and seats.
  • Teak toe rail including closed roller fairleads forward, midships and aft.
  • 4 x Watertight bulkheads.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Emergency tiller steering.
  • “Regatta” keel is a lead casting alloyed with antimony.
  • NEW modified fin and bulb keel (2013) designed by Hugh Welbourne.
  • Cast in keel bolts are of high tensile stainless steel.
  • Rudder is foam filled GRP with tapered tubular stock of E-glass composite, supported by 2 x JP3 self-aligning roller bearings.

Forepeak:

Forward Guest Cabin Port:

  • 2 upper and lower berths

Forward Guest Cabin Starboard:

  • Removable centreline door and panels to separate forward cabins.

Note: There is a removable bulkhead between the port and starboard forward guest cabins. This can be removed and stored off the yacht when she is in regatta mode, or if the yacht is cruising with 2 couples as the area provides a larger en-suite cabin for guest.

 

Forward Head Starboard:

Saloon:

  • Fixed table positioned slightly to starboard with under table storage.
  • Sofa seating around the forward saloon bulkhead and the starboard side.
