This vessel has recently had a substantial amount spent on it to ensure it's in in great condition and fully fit for purpose. A full description can be provided on request.

The Moody S38 is designed as a fast, safe cruiser with comfortable accommodation for long periods aboard. The three double cabins, occasional saloon berth, twin heads and well equipped galley can accommodate 7 with ease. Moody build quality ensures a robust, seaworthy vessel with a well finished interior you would be hard pushed to find on a new production yacht this size.

Construction

Single skin GPR hull and deck with interior moulding and extensive wood finish to saloon and cabins. Deep fin keel (1.91m draft) and keel bolts replaced in 2024. Semi balanced skeg hung rudder with wheel steering and Raymarine ST6002 Autopilot. Dek-Dek finish to cockpit seats and sole. Coachroof opening port lights removed and professionally serviced Spring 2024. Full polish August 2024. Canvass work has been refurbished in 2024. New Mahogany washboards fitted.

Mechanicals, rigging and sails

Volvo Penta MD2040-B diesel with MS120 Saildrive and 3 bladed Max-Prop bronze feathering propeller. Saildrive diaphragm replaced in 2016. Shore power connection. Bank of 3 x 12 V batteries provide engine start and service power, charging via an upgraded alternator. All oils, filters and impellor and anodes changed 2024.

9/10ths fractional Bermudan rig with deck stepped alloy mast and spars and stainless wire standing rigging (replaced August 2018)

Accommodation and inventory

Master forecabin with double berth, en-suite heads and shower, dresser unit and storage. Two aft double cabins and a saloon settee berth. A second head is accessible via Jack and Jill doors from the saloon and port cabin. There are no holding tanks. Saloon area has dining table with 2 folding leaves. Navigation station with chart table, electronics panel and Garmin 550 plotter. The galley, to starboard has twin stainless sinks, top loading fridge, gas oven with hob and grill and plenty of storage. Eberspacher diesel cabin heating fitted along with shore power.
