Perfectly set up for Med cruising, Jessie has excellent solar power, a huge and very efficient fridge, davits for the dinghy and a Torqeedo electric motor for the outboard. She was originally a charter boat and so has 2 heads (one with holding tank) and 3 cabins. She could easily sleep 6 but we've found her to be an ideal long term cruising boat for 2, with space for folding bikes and even the occasional visitors ...
VAT has been paid in Greece. Since 2019 she has been cared for over winter and serviced by Contract Yacht Services in Lefkas, and she was surveyed for insurance purposes in 2024, with all recommendations completed.
Not all 37.1s are exactly the same and some don't have windows in the hull from the forepeak, just an overhead hatch. We've spent a lot of time at anchor and being able to survey the (glorious) scene from your bed is a major advantage. Another anchorage asset is the efficient fridge/solar panel/electric outboard setup. The outboard can be charged from its position on the aft rail, and we almost never have need to connect to shore power. The cabin and galley arrangements are comfortable and convenient
She has an in-mast furling mainsail and a roller-reefing Yankee-cut genoa which gives excellent forward visibility downwind, with sheets and furling lines led back to the cockpit. The sails are easily handled from the cockpit with two aboard. She can be sailed by two almost as easily as a dinghy.
Her engine, a 50hp Volvo Perkins, has 8,500 miles on the clock but has been serviced regularly with repairs and replacements as necessary over the years.
The dinghy can be hoisted and carried on the davits - or towed astern if preferred, which obviates the need for a lifeboat. The dinghy can be attached and detached from the davits single-handedly, but the outboard, which is hoisted on and off the transom with a separate block and tackle system, usually needs two if there is any sea.
The davits also enable the (rather superior) wooden passerelle to be lowered onto a quay when anchoring or lazy-lining stern-to. The 15kg Rocna anchor gives reliable holding and is larger than the minimum suggested for this size of boat. The Fortress kedge anchor and drum of Ankarolina tape hang on the transom ready for bows-to anchoring.
She has a full set of tailored sunshades for the cockpit when at anchor and effective detachable infills to the bimini for Mediterranean deluges.
She has a transom made for swimming with a fresh-water shower from the pressurised water system.
The photos are not the greatest - we only decided it's time to part with Jessie over the winter, so haven't taken any photos with selling in mind.
