Hylas Yachts International is a well-respected world leader in the production of high-performance cruising yachts. The company originated in Taiwan in 1984 when brothers Jack and Hans Huang purchased the Queen Long Marine boatyard. Their vision was to combine traditional Taiwanese craftsmanship with contemporary yacht design. The Huangs named their new venture Hylas, after a figure in Greek mythology known for his strength and courage.
Hylas Yachts quickly gained a reputation for building strong, reliable sailing vessels able to withstand the harshest of sea conditions. They established a productive partnership with globally acclaimed naval architects and designers, such as German Frers and Bill Dixon. This collaboration resulted in the creation of innovative, luxurious yachts that balanced high-level performance, ease of handling, and liveaboard comfort.
Today, Hylas Yachts is based in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where the Queen Long boatyard continues to oversee the construction of each yacht. The Hylas fleet has expanded over time to include a variety of models, with the most recognised being the Hylas 54 and Hylas 46. Showcasing the brand's unwavering commitment to quality, Hylas Yachts continue to impress the sailing fraternity worldwide. Each Hylas Yacht is a testament to the tireless dedication, exceptional craftsmanship and innovative spirit that the company has embodied since its inception.
