PARADIGM SHIFT was built in 2009, the 19th H42 hull to come out of the original Hardy yard in Norfolk. She has been in the same ownership since new and professionally maintained throughout her lifetime. An excellent example of this highly sought-after 2 double cabin layout with extended galley/utility to Port and benefits from in-build upgraded Twin Disc gearboxes with electronic control, hydraulic bow thruster and hydraulic windlass. So impressed with the sea-keeping ability of this model the owner is now upgrading to the all-new Hardy 45 and therefore this excellent example of a popular classic is now for sale. Currently laying afloat at RMYC, Poole.

CONSTRUCTION

Hull – Initial lay-up using Lloyds approved isophthalic gelcoat and resin. Subsequent lay-up orthphthalic resin. Stiffened with heavy GRP foam filled stringers and hand bonded plywood grid, bonded waterproof plywood equipment beds and foundations. Hand bonded, resin coated waterproof plywood bulkhead. High density foam cored bonded engine beds with integral plate steel mountings. Dark blue vinyl wrapped top stripe in hull, white gelcoat elsewhere.

Superstructure – GRP with balsa reinforcing. Bonded waterproof plywood equipment beds and foundations. White gelcoat finish. Hull and superstructure are bonded together with Plexus and bolted together using stainless steel bolts to 10 mm backing plates.

ON DECK

• Teak decking on foredeck, forward coachroof, side decks, aft deck and flybridge

• Wide, safe side decks enclosed by bulwarks and solid handrails around the whole boat, incorporating fender baskets on pushpit

• Maxwell hydraulic windlass on foredeck with local controls at both the lower and flybridge helm positions

• Claw anchor and 60m chain

• All deck fittings are stainless steel grade 316

• Stainless steel rub rail

• 8 stainless steel mooring cleats

• Stainless steel stemhead for anchor stowage with twin bow rollers

• Stainless steel frame, teak laid, with and an extending MOB/bathing ladder

Aft Coachroof Deck (Access from side decks Port & Starboard)

• Large area enclosed by rails with U-shaped seating and storage lockers

• Large portable folding teak dining table and a pair of folding teak director chairs

• Removable seat & backrest cushions

Flybridge (Access from raised aft deck area)

• Seating on both sides, wrapping around the aft end, fitted with removable cushions, lockers below. Forward helm console and a pair of seats on sliders

• Perspex windshield around the sides of the forward two thirds of the flybridge

• Helm console with engine, thrusters, trim tab and steering controls. (see electronics for nav equipment)

• Hinged mast for radar scanner, antennas, lights etc

• Port and Starboard navigation lights are fitted to the flybridge sides. Stern, steaming and anchor light are on the mast
