The story of Glacier Bay Boats began in the heart of America, Washington specifically, in 1986 when Larry Graf, a seasoned mariner with a particular fondness for boats decided to redefine the power catamaran system. Graf, who held a Master's degree in Fishery and Oceanographic Technology, had a deep understanding of boat stability, efficiency and rough water performance which he applied to create an extraordinary range of power catamaran boats that set new standards in boating experience.
Graf's initial models, notably for their solid hulls and spacious layouts, attracted a strong customer following. Vereinigte Spezial Möbelfabriken (VSM), better known as World Cat, recognised the unique capabilities of Glacier Bay boats and acquired the brand in 2008. This strategic business decision led to the implementation of a vertically integrated manufacturing process that bolstered the brand's reputation for quality and performance.
Today, Glacier Bay Boats are proudly built in Tarboro, North Carolina, in World Cat's state-of-the-art 140,000 square foot production facility. Every Glacier Bay boat is now a product of such craftsmanship that it is considered among the top power catamarans globally. Despite its growth and relocation, Glacier Bay still upholds the same values and principles that were instituted by its founder, emphasising quality, innovation and superior sea handling capabilities. The brand continues to evolve, strive for excellence and set new benchmarks in marine engineering.
