Draco is a distinguished Norwegian boat manufacturer with a lengthy history that dates back to 1963. It was founded by talented boat racers Arne and Theodore Hestenes in Håholmen, Norway, with a vision of creating supreme quality boats that ensure a swift, comfortable, and secure sea journey. Holders of world speed records in the time, the duo blended their expertise to produce vessels that were not only high-performing but also aesthetically splendid.
With time, Draco's exceptional boats gained widespread recognition, winning several awards at the Oslo Boat Show. Though Norwegian at its core, Draco's journey took a twist in 1989 when it was acquired by the English firm, Windy Boats. The takeover shifted Draco's manufacturing base from Norway to Værløse, a location in the eastern part of Denmark.
In 2014, the business returned to its Norwegian roots when it was reacquired by skilled boat builder Hans Jørgen Johnsen, who was instrumental in the brand's initial success. Today, although the headquarters have returned to its original homeland Norway, Draco boats continue to be manufactured in Poland, adjoining the Windy production facility. Through its decades of expertise, Draco stands tall in the marine world, with a rich legacy of creating timeless boats that seamlessly combine resilience, speed and sophistication.
