Accommodations

Forward Cabin:

The forward cabin provides 2 large single berths in a 'V' arrangement. With its 2 side windows and opening roof hatch, plenty of light is allowed to enter this airy cabin. This cabin also features 12 volt lighting, reading light, single half-length wardrobe and a roof vent providing further fresh air ventilation.

Forward Head:

The forward head being just aft of the forward cabin and set to the starboard. It’s a fully self contained locker with manually flushing toilet to holding tank (with holding tank level gauge and tank to sea converter switch), moulded sink with hot and cold mixer tap, Wall mounted shower unit with height adjustable shower head, 12 volt lighting, a cabinet and mirror.

Galley:

The galley is situated to the starboard side and just forward of the main saloon. Due to its open nature, its shares the same light and air offered to the main saloon. The galley is well-equipped with a large 12 volt fridge/freezer, 3 burner hob, large double oven and grill and microwave. Also there is a large stainless steel sink feed by hot and cold mixer tap. There is also a clever corner bin, set into the work surface. To make the galley into an extremely usable and functional part of the vessel, Broom have provided deep locker space and cupboard space and large under-surface cupboards.

Dinette:

The dinette is situated opposite the galley to port and has a large ‘U’ shaped sofa area, upholstered in the same materials as the saloon. There is ample space for 4 adults to sit around the mahogany table, which is height adjustable so it can double as a functional support which an infill cushion can fasten to, making the dinette sofa area into a double bed. The addition of a clock and barometer, 12 volt lighting and further fresh air ventilation, this is a very comfortable area to work and relax in. There is also a window running the length of the dinette area, below which is found shelving space for ornaments etc and drinks/glasses holder.

Main Saloon:

The main saloon can be accessed via 2 sliding doors, one of which is situated to port and allows access from the side deck; the second from the cockpit next to the helm and down four steps. Seating is in the form of a large and comfortable ‘U’ shaped sofa. With storage drawer underneath. There is also a mahogany coffee table which complements the mahogany interior. Because of the Broom 38’s large and stylish side windows and sweeping lower screen, plenty of natural light is also allowed into the main saloon. Other features include drinks cupboards, television cabinet and shelving space. Engine access is under floor and steps to aft cabin.

Aft Cabin:

The aft cabin is 3 steps down from the main saloon, before the door to the cabin is a small locker to Stb and power control board. The main feature of the aft cabin is its large double island bed, which allows 3 sides to be easily walked around and has the benefits of a full dresser and 2 wardrobes. It also has plenty of drawer and cupboard space. Light is provided by tasteful 12 volt ceiling lights, matching reading lights and natural light through both large opening windows to port and starboard and both opening rear hatches mounted in the transom each side of the bed head. These hatches double as escape hatches as well as windows and Broom has cleverly incorporated pull-across blinds to black them out, or pull-across flyscreens to allow ventilation in the summer without the problem of insects.

Aft En-Suite Head and Shower:

The second head is situated in the aft cabin to port and has a toilet with electric flush (tank to sea converter switch), moulded sink with hot and cold mixer tap, razor point, 2 mirrors and small window. The shower is a separate compartment, on starboard side is a fully contained water-tight locker with wall mounted shower unit with height adjustable head, also has the benefit of a seat plus ceiling ventilation, heated towel rail, 12 volt lighting and a window, making it an extremely functional and comfortable area to use.

Main Cockpit Area:

The cockpit has helm to starboard with all main controls and gauges, large chart table and 2 bucket style seats for helmsman and navigator. Instrumentation at the helm includes comprehensive engine instruments including: water temperature, oil pressure, voltage, fuel gauges for each tank and rudder indicator, isolator switches for other instruments and lighting, bowthruster control. Behind the helm you have 'U' shaped seating with table. The aft deck and helm are protected from the elements by a large, sturdy but easily moveable 2 piece hood system, which is supported by the lowering fibre glass radar arch and stainless steel rails. Other features of the aft deck and helm are waterproof lockers and 12 volt lighting. The interior of the boat is accessed from this point via a large perspex lockable sliding door.
