The David Thomas designed Sigma 33 OOD has become a legend in its own lifetime. This quintessential one design cruiser/racer is fun and easy to sail, great to race and has plenty of creature comforts below to make them good cruising boats. It's no wonder that they have been hugely successful and remain ever popular.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to seven berths in two cabins with approximately 6'2" maximum headroom. Forecabin with V-berth, infill to create double berth, beneath berth stowage and opening hatch to foredeck. Full-width separate heads compartment to port with marine, washbasin, and hanging locker opposite. Saloon with L-shaped settee to port which converts to a double berth, fixed table with drop leaves, and settee berth with pilot berth outboard to starboard. Galley aft to starboard equipped with a gimballed 2-burner gas hob, stainless steel sink with manually pumped water supply, icebox, and storage. Chart table to port with quarter berth behind. Teak cabinetry with blue upholstery throughout.

Mechanical Systems

Located behind companionway. Volvo Penta MD2020-B fitted in early 2000's, three cylinder, 19hp diesel engine. Electric start. Seawater cooled. Shaft drive to two bladed folding propeller. Single lever controls. Approximately 30 litre fuel tank.

    Built in 1982 by Marine Projects for Sigma Yachts to a design by David Thomas. White GRP hull with style stripes. White GRP superstructure with moulded non-slip to decks. Fin keel. Spade hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self-draining cockpit. Hull epoxied below the waterline. Anodes changed and antifouling done in Spring 2024.
