Mechanical & Electrical Systems

Located in a soundproofed compartment under the saloon sole are the twin Yanmar 4LH-HTE turbocharged 4-cylinder 140hp diesel engines. Freshwater cooled via heat exchangers. Morse dual single lever controls and electric start. Shaft drives with spur rope cutters fitted driving via gearboxes (both reconditioned during current ownership) to 3-bladed bronze propellers with protective central skeg keel. Twin 260 litre fuel tanks totalling 520 litre fuel capacity. Remote control trim tabs (new hydraulic pump, pipework and actuators 2014). Sleipner Sidepower bowthruster. Full engine instrumentation.

Three 12 volt domestic batteries (2021). 12 volt engine start battery (2022). 12 volt bowthruster battery. Alternator charging (Sterling advanced digital 4 step alternator regulator fitted to port engine). 240 volt shorepower system with ring mains. CTEK M300 25amp battery charger. Immersion coil for water heating. Sterling battery monitoring system for all three banks of batteries. Sterling galvanic isolator

Construction

Skilso 975 Arctic built in December 1997 by Skilso of Norway to a Rolf Roland design, first launched in May 1998. Dark blue GRP planing hull, white superstructure and decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Hydraulic wheel steering to twin rudders. Enclosed wheelhouse with sliding door to cockpit. Self draining aft cockpit with walk-thru transom door and excellent stowage in large lazarette. Moulded GRP bathing platform with teak inserts and concealed swim ladder.

The accommodation is attractively finished with high quality teak joinery throughout and offers up to six berths in two cabins plus the saloon. Up forward, there is a offset double berth with stowage beneath, reading lights, opening hatch to foredeck, two portlights, room to dress and a bench seat. Separated from the passageway area by a curtain. The separate heads compartment is to port with a Jabsco marine toilet, washbasin, shower with pump out, mirror, cupboards, extractor fan and opening port light. Holding tank (new 85 litre plastic tank by TekTanks 2010) with gauge.

Moving aft, there is a Double berth beneath the wheelhouse sole with opening portlight. Separated from the passageway area by a curtain. Moving up into the wheelhouse, there is the helm to starboard with a generous bench seat for two which flips to extend the dinette area which also converts to a small double berth if required. Separate navigators seat to port with a linear galley running aft equipped with an ENO stainless steel 2-burner gas hob with separate oven, stainless steel sink with hot and cold water supply and ample storage in various lockers and drawers. Isotherm sliding drawer type fridge opposite galley.

Pressurised hot and cold water supplied throughout via a calorifier with immersion coil. Ardic 3kw diesel fired warm air heating system. Blue velour saloon upholstery. Fitted curtains including hatches and portlights with teak and holly sole boards throughout.
