Leading marina provider Premier Marinas is investing circa £11M in improving its marinas in 2018.   The company owns 9 prestigious South Coast marinas and is part of The Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation with a diverse portfolio of companies and a strategic approach to investment. In recent years this approach to investment has allowed Premier to buy a new marina and invest in infrastructures, new luxury facilities, new boatyards and key dredging projects.

Premier’s locations include Eastbourne and Brighton; these marinas accommodate 780 and 1,300 boats respectively; they also offer excellent links with London and the South East and provide easy access to the boating delights of the South Coast and France. Both marinas also offer full service boatyards and access to shops, restaurants and multiplex cinemas. In Brighton, the UK’s largest marina, a good range of restaurants has been boosted to outstanding by the completion of the new West Quay. In 2018 Premier will continue its investment in Brighton’s pontoon renewal programme and dredging and February will sees the company will start the refurbishment of its east jetty toilets and showers to bring these facilities up to ‘Premier’s luxury standard’.

Within easy distance of the Solent, and at the head of the delightful Chichester Harbour, sits Premier’s Chichester Marina. This picturesque marina hosts just under 1,000 boats and boasts a new boatyard, retail complex and waterside restaurant. Moving west toward the centre of the Solent, Premier’s Southsea Marina in Langstone Harbour is small and friendly with a sailing club feel. Here you’ll find luxury facilities, an excellent boatyard, a popular Indian restaurant and a cosy café. Investment in 2018 will include dredging of the marina’s main entrance channel and a new luxury toilet and laundry block at the western end of the marina.

In Portsmouth Harbour, Premier’s Port Solent Marina offers easy transport links along the South Coast and up to London. This is a family friendly marina with an eclectic choice of restaurants, green spaces, walks and a multiplex cinema. This year Premier is reconfiguring a large section of the marina to build longer pontoons and wider fairways for bigger boats (up to 33m).  Also in the Harbour, but on the eastern side, and within yards of the Solent, Premier owns Gosport Marina which benefits from a delightful waterside café and incorporates a dry stack and specialist boatyard Endeavour Quay. Premier’s 2018 plans include a new pontoon link between the marina and the boatyard, further deep water berthing and dredging in the marina.

West along the coast, but still boasting easy access to the popular Solent waters, Premier owns Swanwick Marina which lies in the picturesque upper reaches of the river Hamble. Road access to Swanwick Marina is superb from London and with good parking, luxury facilities, a new boatyard and dry stack, great walks and a choice of restaurants and pubs, this marina is arguably the best on the Hamble.

Premier’s jewel in the crown has to be Noss on Dart. Set on the eastern bank of the River Dart with spectacular views of the river and Dartmouth town this marina is unsurpassed for natural assets. Premier acquired the marina in 2016 and is set to redevelop the 37 acre site with a view to making it the finest marina in the UK.  The redevelopment will see £75m invested over a number of years beginning with the expansion of the marina to 232 berths; a new boatyard; a new hardstanding for up to 100 boats and a new dry stack. A hotel with 50 rooms, two restaurants and a spa is also an important part of Premier’s plans.

Falmouth Marina is Premier’s most western marina. Set in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty in the sheltered waters on the Fal Estuary, this charming marina has new luxury facilities, a restaurant that overlooks the water and a quality boatyard with a dry stack. The marina offers easy access to 12 miles of glorious boating water that stretches as far as the cathedral city of Truro, with numerous creeks, wooded shorelines and quays along the way. In 2018 Premier will be refurbishing the marina reception.
