Southerly 115 Series III
The Southerly 115 Series III lifting keel was built in 1998 and features a Yanmar 50HP diesel engine, providing 1969 engine hours. This yacht accommodates 6 berths across two cabins. It has had only two owners since new and includes a second helm and engine throttle control from within the boat, enhancing your cruising experience. The current owners have maintained her for over 16 years, cruising in UK and Irish waters. The 50 HP engine offers significant power when not under sail. The Southerly 115 is equipped with a bow thruster, Eberspacher D3LC warm air heating, and had its standing rigging replaced in 2018. New instruments including Autohelm, Raymarine i60 wind, and i50 speed and depth log were added in 2018, along with AIS and radar. Accommodation
Saloon: The saloon features an adjustable height table that converts the dinette into a double berth, fitted on the port side. The table extends to starboard to maximize seating capacity. Lockers are located under the dinette, with shelf space outboard and storage behind. Opposite the dinette, a settee berth includes a shelf outboard and additional storage. Teak shelves run along both sides of the saloon above the four hull ports. The flooring is teak and holly striped plydeck with a non-slip varnish. Concertina blinds are installed in the raised coachroof area. All upholstery was replaced and recovered in 2016, and there is a TV bracket with a TV, along with a brass clock and barometer mounted on the main bulkhead.
Galley: Located to port in the wheelhouse, the galley includes a single sink with a drainer and pressurized hot and cold water, along with a fresh water hand pump. The L-shaped Nordstone worktops provide ample space for food preparation. A gimballed gas cooker with fiddles, two burners, a grill, and an oven—complete with a fail-safe on all burners—is included. A removable Nordstone work surface with a cutting board lid sits over the cooker. A gallery crash bar runs the full length of the galley. The cool box features Isotherm 3200 refrigeration, with a cutlery drawer and crockery storage available, along with cupboards for utensils and food. The flooring mirrors the teak and holly striped plydeck with a non-slip varnish, and a fire blanket is provided. Batteries are stored in a specially designed area beneath the galley floor.
Navigation Area: Located to starboard in the wheelhouse, the navigation area contains a chart table with storage underneath and a hinged extension piece. The console for instruments spans across the front of the chart table and outboard. The inside steering system is equipped with a removable stainless steel wheel, and the helmsman's seat features a stainless steel grab rail and a large locker beneath. A windscreen wiper is installed on the starboard forward window.
Walk Through: The passageway leading to the aft cabin includes hanging space at the back and general storage areas at the front. There are designated storage spaces for the table extension and double berth infill. Access to the engine compartment is available through two large removable panels and doors located at either end of the walkway between the galley and the aft cabin.
Aft Cabin: The spacious aft cabin offers two single berth pocket sprung mattresses with an infill to create a seat. Three overhead lockers are located at the back, while a hanging locker is positioned to starboard, complete with drawers and a vanity table. A seat on the port side features shelves above and storage below. An opening hatch provides access to the aft deck, and the opening coaming windows and hull windows are fitted with curtains. The floor is carpeted, with access to the sterntube underneath.
Forecabin: The forecabin features two full-sized single overlapping berths with storage underneath, along with access to the chain locker at the front. On the port side, there is a shelf above the berth, while an opening Lewmar hatch provides access to the foredeck. Additionally, two ports equipped with teak rails and curtains are installed in the hull. A folding door separates the cabin from the main saloon.
Heads: The heads compartment is situated to starboard, equipped with a Jabsco marine WC and washbasin, providing pressurized hot and cold water along with a shower. The basins and surrounds are finished in Nordstone, complemented by storage lockers, a mirror, and a glass holder. The floor features a teak shower grating, and a separately switched electric shower pump drains the shower tray. An electric fan/blower is fitted with a two-way switch, and there is an oilskin hanging space adjacent to the toilet compartment.
Deck Equipment
GRP hull & deck in off-white with a non-slip deck. A fully recessed anchor chain area with 2x s.s. rollers on the bow includes a purpose-designed Bruce anchor 20 kg & storage with 50 m of 8 mm chain and 50 m of anchor warp, new in 2018. This leads to an electric anchor windlass, 2x fwd mooring cleats & fairleads. S.s. pulpit, pushpit, guard wires & gates. Stepped deck with clear foredeck with hatch & Dorado vent. Raised pilot house saloon with 3x fwd-facing windows with starboard side wiper for below-deck steering. Coachroof with 2x opening hatches, 2x s.s. grab handles. White sprayhood. Centre & aft s.s. cleats. Raised cockpit area laid to teak & drain, steps leading to sugar scoop stern through s.s. removable gates to fold-down bathing ladder & platform. Aft cabin opening hatch. Step down to the cockpit with wheel steering & binnacle. Starboard side deep sail locker, halyard bags.

Electrics
Four robust 12v batteries are equipped with individual isolating switches: one for engine starting and three for domestic use. These batteries are securely housed in a specially designed vented box beneath the cabin soles. Charging occurs through the engine alternator, supplemented by a 30-amp Sterling battery charger. A Sterling battery management panel displays both voltage and amperage readings. Additionally, three solar panels are mounted on the sprayhood.
The system includes complete accommodation and navigation lighting, with a combined floodlight and steaming light on the mast, as well as a combined tricolor/all-round white light at the masthead. A switch panel, located at the chart table, features circuit breakers to protect the system. A sacrificial anode is connected to the hull, engine, and sterntube, accompanied by a battery state meter.
The 240V ring main provides power through one double outlet in the galley, two single sockets in the saloon, and a shaver/toothbrush socket in the heads, complete with an earth leakage circuit breaker and shore power connection cable. An immersion heater is installed in the engine calorifier, and a Series 20 ultrasonic antifouling system is in place. There is a 12-volt internal charging socket at the chart table, a USB charging socket also at the chart table, and a 12V 25-amp heavy-duty socket in the cockpit.

Swing Keel
The cast iron grounding plate is securely bolted into a recess within the GRP hull using stainless steel bolts. It serves as transverse reinforcement around the keel slot and safeguards the hull during grounding. The aerofoil swing keel, designed by Rob Humphries, is made of cast iron and features a stainless steel pivot fitting that connects to a robust boss at the front of the grounding plate. An electrically operated hydraulic ram, which includes a manual backup, raises the swing keel through a pulley system. This mechanism can be operated from either the cockpit or the chart area, and a keel lock-up pin is also included for added security.
Engine
A Yanmar 4JH2 50hp four-cylinder, four-stroke marine diesel engine is equipped with a reduction/reverse gearbox and is freshwater cooled. The marine electrical system features a 55-amp alternator along with a Yanmar instrument panel. Hot water is generated from the engine through a calorifier tank. Additional features include:
