Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • White hull with Nautor blue coaming and cove lines.
  • Teak laid deck and coach roof areas (teak decking is original).
  • Teak rubbing strake fitted to hull, just below toe-rail, and with s/s trim.
  • Underwater area epoxy coated as a preventative/protection, in 1995.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Scheel keel 1.70m draft (5.5’) – same ballast as standard keel.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • 1 x Volvo Penta 2003 turbo 33 kW (45hp) turbocharged diesel engine – as standard.
  • There is a spare reconditioned Volvo 2003 engine available- £TBC.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Range under power 700 nm, or 140 hours, at 5 knots, top speed 8 knots.
  • Engine regularly serviced. Approx 3,000 hours on meter.
  • New turbo, March 2003 by Volvo agent.
  • Major rebuilds carried out by Precision Marine in Mallorca summer 2004.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • Max Prop three blade feathering propeller, new 1998 serviced annually.

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

  • Service power 12v.

 

Battery Banks:

  • 1 x 12v 93Ah engine start battery - new 2022, located under the chart table seat.
  • 4 x service batteries, 480 Ah total – all new 2024, located forward of the mast to port.

 

Battery Chargers:

  • Battery charger, Victron Palas12v/50A, 110V transformer currently removed but can be reinstated.

 

Alternators:

  • 2 x 50A alternators for charging service and start batteries.

 

Shore Power:

  • Shore power 220v including land connection cable, polarity alarm, main switch, and outlets.

Plumbing Systems

  • Foot pump for fresh water at galley and sea water.

 

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Pressurised hot and cold-water system.
  • Hot water via engine calorifier or from 220v shorepower.
  • New hot water tank installed in 2007. Located under the aft cabin berth.
  • Eberspacher waterborne D5W heating system (currently removed).

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • 2 x Electric bilge pumps - new 2012 and 2013.
  • 2 x Manual bilge pumps (main cabin and cockpit).

Tankage

Fuel:

  • 265 L (in 2 stainless steel tanks located behind the main cabin seating).
  • Filter, water trap, water in fuel alarm and crossover valves.

 

Fresh Water:

  • 320 L (in 2 stainless steel tanks located under the main cabin seating).
  • Crossover valves.

 

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

  • Stainless steel holding tank for aft toilet.
  • Blackwater tank located in aft cabin to starboard.

Navigation Equipment

  • Brookes & Gatehouse Hornet 4 sailing instruments, (boat speed, wind speed/direction, log), including analogue repeaters at cockpit.
  • Brookes & Gatehouse Hecta depth unit with analogue repeater in cockpit, twin transducers.
  • ICOM GMDSS VHF with command mike on binnacle in cockpit.
  • ICOM GMDSS VHF.
  • ICS Nav 5 GMDSS Navtex Receiver.
  • Autohelm M 6000 autopilot.
  • Prosser Weathertrend.
  • Suunto binnacle compass.
  • Garmin GPS plotter, Garmin sonar module, UK G2 blue charts above chart table.
  • Garmin GPS plotter installed in cockpit/ west coast charts.
  • Windex.

Domestic Equipment

Galley:

  • Galley to port, with – Smev 3 burner gas cooker with oven and grill (cooker new in 2011), top fridge (driven off engine) and freezer below (electric), twin s/s sinks and stowage.
  • Iceberg 12v fridge system (with automatic cut out system if voltage low).
  • Frigoboat freezer system run via compressor on engine.
  • Smev twin burner cooker with grill and oven solenoid shut off valve located in storage locker.
  • Cooker hood complete with lighting and extraction fan.

 

Heads/Showers:

  • Forward toilet, washbasin, and shower room to port.
  • Aft toilet/shower compartment (accessible from aft cabin and saloon).
  • 2 x Blake Zenith toilets (both are electric - new 2008).
  • Manual shower sump pumps.

 

Heating & Ventilation:

  • Eberspacher D5W, currently removed but can be reinstated.
  • Radiator fan units in the aft cabin and forward cabin, hot air ducting throughout.

 

Entertainment:

  • Alpine stereo radio cassette player, speakers in saloon and cockpit.

 

Lighting:

  • 12v deckhead and reading lights throughout.
  • Navigational lights.

Accommodation

Summary of Accommodation:

  • Wooden V berths in forward cabin (with infill piece to make a double if required), generous lockers.
  • New mattress and Novasuede upholstery in light blue in 2013.
  • Saloon, with U settee to port, lockers above/outboard; settee berth to starboard with lockers, glass stowage and bookshelves above/outboard (no pilot berths in saloon).
  • New upholstery in Novasuede Emerald green in 2013.
  • Large teak, folding leaf saloon table.
  • Chart table with instruments and electric panel to starboard.
  • Aft cabin with double berth on centreline, lockers port and starboard, seats.
  • Curtains and hatch blinds.
  • Scatter cushions and deck cushions.
  • Cutlery, glasses, and crockery.
  • Lee berths for aft cabin and main saloon.

 

Description of layout from forward:

 

  • Forward cabin can be 2 single berths or a very large double when the infill panel is used. The cabin door can isolate forward cabin from saloon if needed.
  • Forward heads located to port.
  • The saloon can be used as 2 single berths or the port side can be a double by using the infill panel.
  • From the companionway steps, chart table located to starboard and galley to port.
  • Entrance to aft cabin through galley or aft heads.

 

Deck Equipment

Rig:

  • Nautor spars.
  • Masthead sloop rig with double spreaders.
  • Mast and boom painted white.
  • Reckmann hydraulic in-mast furling system for mainsail.
  • Reckmann (manual) furling forestay.
  • Navtec discontinuous rod rigging, renewed 2010.
  • Two spinnaker poles and one jockey pole, anodised aluminium.
  • Integral Navtec hydraulic adjuster for backstay.
  • “Quick Vang” boom vang system.
  • New rod rigging (2010).
  • Reckmann in-mast furling.

 

Winches:

  • All winches by Lewmar:-
  • 2 x 65, electric self-tailing - genoa sheet winches.
  • 2 x 52, self-tailing – runners/spi lines.
  • 2 x 40, self-tailing – mainsheet and car.
  • 4 x 46, self-tailing – halyards and controls.
  • 2 x Lewmar single winch handle.
  • 1 x Double Lewmar winch handle.

 

Sails:

  • Hyde Furling Mainsail (Marblehead Dacron) good condition.
  • North Furling laminate Genoa (good condition).
  • Diamond Spinnaker in snuffer.
  • North Storm jib High Vis. – hanked on to deployable inner forestay (never used in anger).
  • Genoa 110% - Battened leech.

 

General:

  • Stainless swimming ladder located on the transom, gate in the transom.
  • Owner’s manual inc. drawings of the hull, deck layout, rigging, electrical and plumbing, rudder, and prop-shaft.
  • Manuals for all instruments, pumps etc.

 

Anchoring & Mooring Equipment:

  • Lofrans Albatros electric anchor windlass, recessed in locker, with foot switch, chain box and drain pump.
  • 45 lb CQR anchor and 50m of 3/8” chain.
  • Spare Danforth and 50m of chain carried in the main cabin under the floor.
  • Mooring warps.

  • Boathook.

  • Bimini sun awning (new 3/2003) and frame.
