Swan 82s ‘STAY CALM’ is an excellent example throughout. Viewing will not disappoint. Her owner has continually invested in the yacht and regularly updated and modernised the yachts operating systems, engineering and sailing performance. The Swan 82s is an iconic yacht with exhilarating performance, class leading residual values and the very best sea-keeping characteristics.

In 2023/24 Stay Calm completed a significant refit at Nautor Swans refit facility in Badalona, Spain. Upgrades included:

• EC6 Carbon rigging (new 2018) serviced & re-sheathed

• Carbon mast & park avenue boom painted

• 2 x New Fischer Panda generators (18kva & 8kva)

• New Cummins 180hp engine block (with warranty)

• New 2023 ZF gearbox

• New house batteries

• New Air Conditioning chiller

• New carbon fibre Future Fibres headstay

• New refrigeration chiller

• New Thrane GMDSS Iridium Certus and various other New electronics (value €30k)

• New mattresses in all cabins

• New TD Marine shaft seal

Accommodating a party of eight in four cabins, the owner's double cabin is situated aft. A pair of twin guest cabins are found port and starboard between the owner's cabin and the saloon and a further double forward of the saloon to port. Two of the cabins have additional Pullman berths. The saloon boasts recent cream leather upholstery, which contrasts nicely with the hand-rubbed satin varnish.

HULL & APPENDAGES

The hull is of single skin construction using glass/aramid hybrid fiber reinforced vinylester laminate with carbon fiber reinforcements. Structural bulkheads are Nomex honeycomb cored carbon fibre epoxy prepreg construction and laminated to hull and deck. Carbon fibre chain plates for the main shrouds are bonded to the hull. Six hull windows, flush with frame and hull on outside, dark tinted.

Steering System

Twin wheels in teak with carbon spokes and reinforcement

A lightweight aluminum steering quadrant is bolted to the rudderstock. Two wheels, 4 turns H.O. to H.O. The rudder is foam filled carbon fibre/epoxy skins with a tubular carbon fibre stock. Weed deflector in front of the rudder. Emergency tiller stowed in the lazarette.

Swim Platform

There is a hydraulically controlled transom door/bathing platform fitted with teak sole. Lazarette is separated with a watertight bulkhead from the interior.

Boarding and Bathing Ladders

Custom-built stainless steel boarding ladder allowing boarding the vessel from the side. Swimming ladder connects to swim platform. There is a ladder with teak treads leads from the main deck to the platform.

The deck is a carbon fibre pre-preg sandwich construction with a Nomex honeycomb core, glued to the hull.

Engine Room

The cabins, corridor and saloon are sound insulated from the noise of the engine. There are various layers of rock wool with noise barrier sheets in between. The engine room doors and lids are of similar construction as the surrounding partitions. They close onto rubber faced landings for maximum noise reduction. Engine space is internally sound insulated, as is the propeller area
