English
Designed by Guillaume Verdier and Jean-Pierre Dick , the JP54 reproduces the high-performance offshore capabilities of an IMOCA, but paired with an incredible, bespoke and comfortable interior that sets this boat above the rest.
"The Kid" is a well-known campaigner on the offshore racing scene, but is a boat with the ability to cross the finish line and head straight off for a weekend's cruising
A very high-specification yacht, that is truly one-of-a-kind.
Rig
Sloop
THE KID is fitted with a custom, carbon Hall Spars mast and boom package, with 3 spreaders.
Rod lateral standing rigging with dyneema running backstays and strops.
Composite rope forestay from Maffioli.
The geometry of the rig is designed to be safe, without the urgent need for runner control during maneuvers. The runners are more used for sail shape control and in windier downwind prolonged conditions.
Carbon boom is fitted with 3 reef options and has an integrated stack pack and sun cover fitted to it.
A full running rigging package is supplied with the boat to meet the demands of offshore loading and chafe.
The boat is fitted with a fixed carbon bowsprit with a composite bobstay and an integrated anchor roller + washer system for mooring.
She is fitted with locking halyards systems throughout, to decrease loadings through the mast.
Generally speaking when sailing upwind, there is a sail for every condition.
Staysail - 22kts +
Solent - 10-22kts
Code boost - 0-10kts
Downwind it is then either gennaker or spinnaker, but most importantly the power is easily under control by the boats systems.

Interior design
Navigation comfort
A large panoramic seat follows the line of the hull. It is the ideal place to lie down or read quietly in the wind! The gimbal-mounted heads can be used at sea, even in the most difficult weather conditions. So many small details that deserve to be discovered and especially experienced!
The rotating interior
In order to optimize the performance of JP54 , the sailboat was equipped with a satellite, a new concept developed on board Paprec-Virbac 2. The satellite is a storage space that allows the weight on board to be transferred to the windward side in a few seconds. This is the first time that a similar concept has been implemented on a sailboat. The gain is significant in terms of both comfort and performance. The satellite also makes it possible to avoid complicated ballast systems.
At the push of a button, the whole central navigation and galley area rotates through 180deg, to ensure these amenities are always on the "high side".
Two spacious owner's cabins
The JP54 has two large cabins at the rear with real doors for more privacy. You can sleep there in complete peace. There are two rest areas at the front for young crew/family members.
Kitchen
Everything is designed to make your sailing trip comfortable, as well as for anchoring or maneuvering in port. Everything is provided so that the cook and crew are satisfied.
Twin stainless steel sinks, with fresh hot water available. Large fridge drawer compartment, as well as a two burner gimbling stove and microwave oven.
Toilet cabin
A large bathroom with a Tecma silence carbon toilet which can be used in a rough seaway, with good privacy and ample hand holds.
Storage areas
Accessibility and functionality allow you to store equipment and cope with all eventualities. The aft section of the cockpit has a large lazarette for tender (approx 3.5m), with large hinging door.
Bathing area at the back with hot water shower. Easy access. A swimmer can get on board without a ladder. But there is one, just in case!
Other refinements include an anchor roller integrated into the bowsprit, even with its owner chain washer, to ensure clean decks.

Fast and comfortable: no need to compromise with the JP54!
"The Kid" is a JP54, which offers you a unique experience by allowing you to combine the pleasures of sailing aboard an extremely high-performance and innovative boat, while benefiting from its ease of handling and its unique design.
No compromise between speed, comfort and the pleasure of sailing, the JP54 combines all these elements to satisfy your desire to escape fast.
Based in the IMOCA 60 concept, but with a more forgiving and comfortable ride, the JP54 is an offshore orientated racer with its DNA in short handed sailing.
"The Kid" is a boat that can comfortably cross oceans, breeze though the Worlds iconic 600-milers and even sprint around an inshore W/L race track if desired. All of that whilst enjoying the comforts of one of the most incredible interior spaces we have seen on a performance yacht, perhaps ever!
