S/V “Castalia” is an Owners’ Version 2013 Fountaine Pajot This is an excellent sailing boat and comfortable to be on offshore or at anchor. Built in France by Fountain Pagot, the Lipari 41 is considered by many to be the best model made in its era. It is easily sailed single-handed as all lines lead back to the helm which has three (3) manual winches. She has a Hard fiberglass cabin top above the cockpit, and a Bimini Stamoid cover at the helm with a new canvas. Instrumentation includes two (2) – Garmin GSA 7608 Multifunction Displays w/US charts (new 2018). The comfortable cockpit is covered by a hard top and provides ready access to the stern and side decks. There is a custom boarding ladder on both sides. The foredeck has a comfortable trampoline. A portable air conditioning unit and a washing machine are included. The comfortable Galley boasts an Eno 3-burner Stainless steel gas stove top, Eno Gas Oven, Dual basin Stainless steel sink with stainless steel freshwater faucet, Isotherm’s Cruise 90 SS Freezer, Isotherm Piano/Drop-in Refrigerator (BD35F compressor and the Salon has Two (2) Insignia 24-inch Class F20 Series Smart HD 720p Fire TV (new 2021), Fusion Bluetooth Stereo Receiver, ample storage, 12-volt fans, 120 volts, 12V. In this Owners’ Version, there are three queen berths. One to starboard which is the owner’s side. Two to port with a shared head. The port bow has a single berth with a port hole, a hatch to the deck, and a reading light. The starboard bow locker only has access from the owner’s head. The starboard hull is the private owner’s suite. There are 120V and 12V outlets, fans, ample closets and drawers for storage, a queen-size berth with a memory foam topper, reading lights, and opening ports. The port hull houses a guest cabin aft that is virtually identical to the master cabin. There is a hanging locker and shelving. Midship there is a bathroom and forward there is another queen size berth with multiple storage areas. The bow cabin is outfitted with a mattress, porthole, and reading light. Three (3) 400W Solaria solar panels and three (3) 110W Solar flex panels with smart solar Bluetooth (new 2021). The boat is self-sufficient at anchor with no need to run the generator except to make water as long as there is sunshine. There is a shore power cord (30 AMP). The stern arch also has a set of dinghy davits for redundancy. Large exterior living spaces and a bright interior with panoramic views. Maintained with care, and fully equipped for blue water, Castalia offers a level of self-sufficiency that can be handled by a reduced crew but offers a pleasant living environment if more are aboard.
