Ida is a Fortuna 46ft auxiliary Bermudan Sloop designed and built in 1971 by De Vries Lentsch Het Fort Netherlands but underwent a major re-fit by the current owner in 2012 in readiness for off-grid ocean crossings. This refit was extensive and she was surveyed and valued at that time for insurance purposes at £150,000
The Re-fit was from the bare hull upwards including 50mm of insulating foam to the accommodation hull and deck. Following this Ida was rewired throughout with tinned cable and wire before installation of electronics & navigation suite, entertainment system, heating, charging systems and soft furnishings
The Perkins 6354-120 HP was totally rebuilt and refurbished along with the hydraulic gearbox.
She also sports a Vetus 4 KVA Generator, a wind turbine and a solar panel and
a battery charger, engine alternator charging plus shore power that provides Ida’s electrical systems.
As you can see Ida can be a very capable vessel with the potential to take the new owner comfortably anywhere in the world.
We say 'can' because the planned departure date of the current owner had to be delayed initially by 12 months. This was followed by poor health of the owner that forced him to acknowledge that the planned adventure/voyage had to be postponed again.
Ida was then, for a period, used by the owner to live aboard. However recently the owner accepted that the voyage will not materialise and Ida is now consequently and reluctantly offered for sale.
Ida is basically sound and thoroughly well found but does require attention to bring her back to her former glory and this is reflected in the asking price
