The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.
Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.
Owners Comments
I have owned her since 2005. The first owner sailed from Bormes/French coast to Corsica/Sardinia and Spain. Since my ownership cruises to Corsica/Sardinia west coast of Italy/Sicily and then to Greece.
Greece has included the Canal, Athens, Peloponnese, Italy, Montenegro and Croatia. Logged approx. 8,000 n miles of 12,033 since launching 28/06/2024
Survey commissioned by the vendor in June 2024 to assist a purchaser, his comments on the survey findings also available on request.
1). The hull was flared and repainted during the 2015 refit.
2). Underwater areas. Antifouling buildup was very thick so in 2006 it was sand blasted and three coat epoxy treatment applied. Since then l have only used soft A/F to avoid build up. ( See Surveyors report for condition of hull above and below water line.)
3) The teak decks are original but were completely refurbished by specialist in 2015 - 2016. The old rubber sealant removed and replaced by a modern UV resistant deck sealant. As part of this all the grooves were machined to increase depth and the all the decks were sanded and teak plugs replaced where necessary.
The hull and decks are always covered when out of commission so since 2016 and with Covid I estimate exposed for,at the most, 9 months!
