Owners Comments
We have sailed on Colette for the past 18 years. At first with her previous owner, as crew, down the Spanish Coast and into Porto in Portugal, then back up across the Bay of Biscay and up the French Coast, over many years, a fortnight at a time. Finally bringing her back to Brixham, which has been her home since were fortunate enough to become her owners in 2016. Since then, we have had wonderful times sailing her around Brixham, Dartmouth and Salcombe for short sails and longer ones to Cornwall, the Channel Islands and the north coast of France.
She is easily handled by the two of us and just as comfortable with family and friends onboard, whether experienced sailors or not. She has always looked after us, in fine weather and foul. We have had good sails in rough seas and strong winds as well as wonderful summer jaunts just around the coast with friends enjoying the sun and the dolphins off Brixham and a motor up the Dart River. One particularly memorable sail was on a very flat sea with very little wind and as we ghosted along under cruising chute we were joined by two Minke whales who swam alongside and behind us for twenty minutes.
She comfortably sleeps and manages 4-6 people. Experienced sailors who come on board and sail her tell us how easy she is to sail – we agree.
On our last sail home from France last year we were met by a large pod of dolphins, who swam and leapt around Colette welcoming us home as we entered Torbay. She is a lovely yacht who has given us years of precious and wonderful memories and adventures and we will miss enormously.
