Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Laminated fibreglass construction. AMEL resin infused GRP process with foam core above waterline level.
• Topsides painted white.
• Watertight bulkhead/comparts with watertight bulkheads and watertight doors as is standard on Amel 50. There are 5 x separate watertight sections – forward lazarette, forward cabin, saloon, aft cabin and aft lazarette.
• The engine/technical equipment room is self-contained and accessed directly from the cockpit.

Keel & Rudder:

• Bolted Lead Keel, 5.36Te, 2.15m draft.
• Twin rudder with wheel steering, operated via push/pull cable system.
• Emergency tiller.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• 1 x Volvo Penta D3, 110hp diesel.
• ZF63 hydraulic gearbox.
• Electronic start and morse control at helm station.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

• Hot water calorifier, 50 litre, heated by both engine coolant and 220V electrical immersion heater.
• Freshwater pressurised system with (pressurised) accumulator.
• Diesel heating system, Webasto 7.6KW unit in engine room, providing piped hot water/glycol to hot air outlets in accommodation areas and heads.

Watermaker:

• Dessalator dual voltage (24V/220V) 100 litres per hour.

Bilge Pumps:

• Main bilge pump in engine room.
• Secondary bilge pumps in engine room, and aft lazarette.

Seawater:

• Single seawater hull seacock with shutoff valve and strainer/filter supplies a sea-chest and outlets from feed the main engine, watermaker, aircon and generator, all housed in engine room.
