Plymouth-based yacht builder Princess Yachts is one of Britain’s top performing companies, according to the Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 annual league table.
The company has been included for the first time with annual sales for 2008 of £206.6m, up from £195.6m on the previous year.
Princess is one of only nine businesses based in the South West to be featured in the coveted ranking of mid-market private companies. The region covers the area from Swindon, Bristol and south to Land’s End. The tables are compiled from the sales turnover reported in the latest available published accounts.
Chris Gates, Managing Director of Princess Yachts said he was delighted that the company had been recognised nationally in The Sunday Times HSBC Top Track 250 league table. “The results for 2008 follow our upward trend over a number of years, as Princess Yachts continues to grow in our home and international markets, manufacturing and supplying a high-quality range of flybridge motor yachts and V Class sports yachts from 42-95 feet.
"With our continued investment in new products and of course our recent announcement of new manufacturing facilities for our M Class yachts over 100 feet and, we are confident that we will continue to be among the UK’s top performing companies, thanks to our global reputation for design, engineering and manufacturing excellence."
